Professional Studies, BS
The Bachelor's of Science in Professional Studies degree meets the needs of adult learners by offering them flexibility while earning a credential that advances their career goals and professional marketability. The curriculum provides a customizable college experience that focuses on skills employers require across a broad range of industries. Courses include those in a chosen specialization, augmented by courses in critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, communications, and management, and an integrative capstone project. Students choose one specialization in Accounting and Business Management, CASAC Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor, Criminal Justice Administration, Health Services Administration, Hospitality Management, Human Services Administration, Information Technology Management, or Public Health Management.
This degree program offers flexible schedules, a generous transfer credit policy, and the opportunity to earn prior learning credits based upon experience demonstrated by professional work experience, military training, national examinations, and portfolio development.
The program level objectives for students completing the BS in Professional Studies are:
- Apply critical analysis, quantitative reasoning, and technological solutions to workplace situations related to their area of concentration.
- Apply ethical, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills in leadership, management, and decision-making situations.
